Get a Dog License
In San Bernardino County, all dogs are required to be licensed and vaccinated against rabies.
San Bernardino County Animal Care has partnered with DocuPet to provide residents with an
enhanced pet licensing experience. Your pet’s license now includes DocuPet’s free HomeSafeâ„¢ 24/7
lost pet service and designer license tags with personalization options. Additionally, 20% of every
product sale (designer tags, collars,leashes and Pet Essentials) is donated to Animals aRe First Fund
(ARFF) through DocuPet’s Safe&Happy Fund.
Residents of the unincorporated areas of San Bernardino County and the cities of Big Bear Lake and
Yucaipa can purchase their dog license at animalcare-sbcounty.docupet.com. Highland residents can
ONLY get a license from Highland City Hall.
To complete the licensing process, you will need a copy of the following records:

Late Fee: $25 late fee will be assessed on all licenses, which have not been purchased or renewed within 30 days from the time of notice.

Visit the Contact Us page where you will find a list of office locations throughout the county where in-person payments can be made.
Update Your Records
Call us to update your address within 30 days of moving, or go online to animalcare-sbcounty.docupet.com, log into your account and update your address on your profile.
Call us to report owner transfers within 30 days of giving your dog and provide your dog’s license number and the name, address and phone number of the new owner.
